Dr. Yael Halaas, a facial plastic surgeon and an active member of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS) shares her predictions on the hottest trends in plastic surgery in 2019 – from hair loss restoration, to microneedling with platelet rich plasma (PRP), to the latest technology for fat transfers.

Fat over fillers. Before you make your next appointment for fillers you may want to consider if harvesting your own fat is a better alternative. BEAUTIFILL technology is the FIRST laser based all in one fat transfer system that addresses both fat reduction for body contouring as well restoring volume loss on the face.  The technology allows for rapid but gentle fat removal (think stomach, thighs, arms) while at the same time isolating highly viable fat cells that physicians can use for immediate reimplantation — addressing volume loss in the face. Studies show that approximately 95% of the fat cells are intact and alive providing amazing results.

Natural-looking results are key in 2019. Today’s procedures create natural-looking results so you look refreshed, relaxed and like the best version of yourself.

Micro will be a macro buzz word in 2019. Microneedling with platelet rich plasma (PRP), microbladingand micro or baby Botox will gain momentum in the coming year. Microneedling uses a special roller or device with needles to create tiny channels in the skin to trigger its natural wound healing capabilities, namely the production of collagen and elastin, the building blocks of supple, youthful skin. PRP injections jump-start this healing response.
